A 1995 Graduate of the International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego, CA, Teri has been practicing massage ever since. Her work has been described as deep but intuitive and she specializes in injury rehabilitation and recovery. With 21 years of experience, Teri's style had become a hybrid of many techniques but those most commonly utilized are deep tissue/myofascial release, trigger point and cross fiber friction, joint mobilization and stretching. She is also a pregnancy massage specialist and is skilled at addressing disk injuries and chronic ailments/illnesses.

As owner of MTA, her vision is to create a clinic of skilled, caring providers. She believes in accessibility for all clients. Teri has witnessed incredible recoveries from profound injuries and touts the value of massage for acute ailments but also believes in the value of regular massage for self care. Her dream to have everyone receive healing, caring, rehabilitative massage as part of any self care routine and can often be heard chanting "massage for everyone!"

Teri works diligently to hire, mentor and train each and every therapist on staff at MTA. It is part of what makes MTA the best massage team in Seattle. These therapists each excel at various specialities, go above and beyond educational requirements and work tirelessly to improve the health of their clients. You can find comfort in knowing that while each individual LMP might not fit your personal style preferences, each and every one is exceptional at what they do.

Clinic Manager/

Michael’s massage philosophy is rooted in the belief that the best massage happens when a therapist is able to combine education of the musculoskeletal system, accurate assessment, and clear client communication with a bit of instinct and intuition.

Michael brings a background of both massage and business management to MTA.  After fifteen years as a designer, project manager, and staff manager in the commercial interior design industry, he returned to school to study massage. Since becoming a therapist, he has owned his own massage business, provided small-business coaching to independent therapists, taught continuing education, served on the board of AMTA-Washington, and spent 6 years as faculty at Cortiva Institute-Seattle.  While at Cortiva, in addition to instructing hands-on massage techniques, he specialized in teaching ethics, client communication, and a variety of professional development topics.

Michael loves the relationships he's built with MTA clients, and revels in helping therapists as they help those clients recover from injury and pain.

After being involved in sports and athletics through high school and dealing with injuries of my own, I knew I wanted to have a career in the medical field. I felt called to go into the field of massage therapy and attended the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy, graduating in 2011. My technique is a blend of trigger point therapy, sports, and range of motion therapy that is both effective and relaxing. Sports massage and deep tissue are for more than just athletes and benefit clients of all types. I also work with hot stones and prenatal.

Every client has their own individual needs and I welcome a challenge. I feel like nothing is more rewarding than improving a clients mobility and way of life. Massage therapy is like putting all the puzzle pieces together so that everything works the way it should. I have yet to get bored doing massage therapy and never expect to. Each day I get to do something different and continue to meet amazing and interesting people. I am excited to be apart of the team here at MTA and look forward to working with you!

Bodywork and massage are functional healthcare. And the benefits are cumulative. I work from the premise that movement is life. And when movement is interrupted by change to our environment, disease, illness or injury, identifying and correcting the dysfunction is vital to functional health. Bodywork and massage are uniquely suited this task; of reclaiming and resuming movement that is life.

I use a non-invasive system of healing called Ortho-bionomy, developed by osteopath Arthur Lincoln Pauls (go to Ortho-Bionomy.org for details). It is astonishing in its simplicity and effectiveness, reliant upon the body’s intelligence and grace. It is also complimentary to other forms of massage that I use such as Intraoral, Oncology, Orthopedic and Sports massage.

In real time I rely upon my client’s feedback as well as what I feel in my their body. It’s a collaborative process. Through subtle contact I use gentle movements, comfortable positioning and brief compression to stimulate the body’s self-correcting reflexes. I also rely upon my broader professional experience as an educator and musician, and competitive cyclist and runner.

Greg normally sees clients Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Specialties include: Orthobionomy, Intra-Oral Massage

Masters Therapist

Growing up in a medical family created a strong interest in anatomy, health, and healing. Getting injuries and being active from a young age made me realize how important self-care is. I was always the one being asked to give massages to people on my sports teams and saw how beneficial it was to recovery.

I graduated in 1997 from the 2200hr program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in British Columbia and practiced in Whistler and Pemberton until moving to Seattle last year. I use modalities such as swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, visceral, craniosacral, sports, and holistic therapies to best serve the clients needs and facilitate healing. I love furthering my education and have specialized training in pre/post natal massage, high risk pregnancies, labour massage, post c-section, post mastectomy and many other courses.

I am so happy to be on the team here at Mayo Therapy Associates and look forward to helping people on their path to wellness!

Nicola normally sees clients Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Receiving great professional massage has been part of my life for over thirty years. It began as an adjunct to my visits to natural hot springs to relax during college. As my years at desk jobs began to take their toll, I used massage, including an intensive structural integration series, and yoga as a regular part of my wellness care. Weekly massage helped ease my pregnancies. More recently, I experienced the power of rehabilitation massage when my teenager broke his jaw in a bike accident.

My path to giving great professional massage has been more circuitous. I began professional life as an investment banker assisting cities with their finances. Next, as an estate planning attorney, I helped clients resolve issues relating to what they cared about most - their families. I left law to get an up close look at early childhood development by nurturing my own children. That led to serving as the operations manager a Waldorf PreK-8 school. Integrating the head, heart and hands is central to Waldorf education. Up to that point, my work had focused on the head and the heart, and I was ready for “hands on.” I graduated from Cortiva Institute – Seattle in 2016. In massage school, I learned clinical assessment and treatment, myofascial, neuromuscular and sports techniques, and foundational Swedish. I have also received training in pre and perinatal massage.

My goal is to help clients achieve relief from pain and a feeling of well-being. While I use my analytical skills to inform treatment, relating to each client holistically is my primary focus. My touch has been described as intentional, slow, deep and restorative. I look forward to working with you as part of the MTA team.

Jessi's love of massage centers on the mind/body/spirit or psycho/bio/social connections. She thrives when she can help clients get to know their bodies better and discover what movements or motions have an effect on their sensations.

In addition to the more sensory side of massage, Jessi is a muscle nerd! She loves understanding how one moves, what does what, and where compensations happen when one is injured.

Here at MTA, Jessi wears two hats: in addition to being one of our massage therapists, she also supports the administrative team once a week. And because she truly enjoys variety and community, Jessi is also an instructor at Discoverypoint School of Massage on Capitol Hill.

Jessi normally see clients on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

As a former nursing student, I knew that I wanted to be able to aide people in a way that would provide them with a better quality of life. Unfortunately, nursing wasn't the way I was going to reach this goal. Fortunately, massage was.  While I was in India receiving my 200 YTT I had met a fellow US citizen who was a trained massage therapist.  She taught me a few strokes and the benefits of neuromuscular techniques and from that point on, I knew what the next leg of my journey was to be.

A graduate of Discovery Point School of Massage, I have recently returned from Costa Rica, where I  continued to build my massage 'tool belt' and expand my knowledge of the human experience.

My work tends to start with the gentle and slow release approach of myofascial techniques. After assessment, I am able to customize my techniques for maximum benefit. \

Freshly back from Costa Rica, Gigi is re-joining us for occasional shifts. please call or use our scheduling app for the latest information.

My interest in massage started in my teens, when I went through physical therapy to rebuild my health after a severe, years-long period of illness.  I was impressed by the notable decrease in pain and fatigue I felt after receiving massage, but it wasn’t until I experienced sports massage while training for a bike tour that my passion was truly kindled.  I’ve always been fascinated by movement, injuries, and the human body, and massage is the perfect bridge between those interests.

I graduated from the Cortiva Institute in Seattle in 2016, and have since attended the Loi Kroh School of Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand, expanding my understanding of ways to facilitate movement and decrease pain.   I use a wide variety of techniques, from trigger point therapy and sports massage to hot stone and cupping, and I am constantly exploring new techniques and modalities in order to approach problems from all angles.  I love working with athletes and on unusual injuries, and on clients who are as passionate about improving their well-being as I am.

V is currently on leave for early 2019; we anticipate her returning soon.

Specialties include: Thai Massage, Hot Stone Massage

V is also trained in Graston, Cupping, and Kinesio-Taping

Administrative & Client Support

Each day, I am happy to be of service to our clients and bringing diligence and an uplifting spirit to the table here at Mayo Therapy Associates. MTA is a community built on healing with an emphasis on a team approach, and I am happy to be a part of the team, doing what we can each day to help you have a better tomorrow. Community is a huge value I have had instilled in me, being from the Midwest, and it’s what I admired about MTA before joining the team. In my spare time, I enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends, long walks with my dogs and quality time with my husband.

Emotional Support

MTA's unofficial mascots are Gus and Maddow, Teri and her spouse's chocolate labs.  Though not here often, when they are, they bring a healing spark with them.
